Come join us for the opening of an international exhibition in Turin, Italy! This is a group collaboration between Turin-based artist Ernesto Morales and Mothership NYC’s Sol Kjok incorporating 22 artists from across the globe. Katy Gunn will perform a live looper set with voice and violin as apart of the Mothership crew!
Katy Gunn plays a solo set on the 29th using live looping, her voice and violin. Join us for a show featuring local bands The Pop Rocks and Christopher Sears - strings abound throughout the evening!

A Monarch's Journey: an Insectageddon satellite event in collaboration with The Highline
An immersive site-specific dance & music performance among the wildflowers of industrial Greenpoint inspired by the migration of Monarchs from their overwintering home in Mexico up to Canada and back again each year.
These site-specific performances, curated by NOoSPHERE Arts’ dance partner CreateART, will bring attention to the ancient evolution and epic migration of the imperiled monarch butterfly while highlighting the opportunities in urban areas to support these creatures through the restoration of critical habitat - even in highly industrial areas.

Each performance will be about 50 minutes long and will include walking alongside the performers for about 25 minutes.
Location & path of the performance: Kingsland Wildflowers Rooftop Meadows through the Newtown Creek Nature Walk and along the Paige Avenue Pollinator Pathway & back.

This project will also be featured virtually in St. Petersburg, Russia, as part of the 8th Art Prospect International Public Art Festival: Forms of Unity
We are Nature series continues - Katy performs alongside a choreographed dance piece, following with a solo set of violin, voice and looping.

In celebration of these special events highlighting our connection to nature and responsibility to protect it, we are pleased to host a virtual reflection hour featuring: ~ The premiere of the official WE ARE NATURE 2020 video ~ Q & A with renowned Activist, Scientist and Author Fritjof Capra on his methods and thoughts around climate awareness, , moderated by NOoSPHERE Arts’ Sustainability and Strategy Advisor, Daniela Kuntz. ~ Discussion with choreographers Kelly Ashton Todd and Cameron KcKinney on their process of creating site-specific works for this unique setting, moderated by Georgia, CreateART’s Founding Director ~ Live water-themed musical act by singer-songwriter Katy Gunn, musician in residence at Mothership NYC Join us in discussion to look back on these one-of-a-kind shows, hear from these inspiring artists and activists and engage with climate awareness on a day that has come to symbolize the very opposite.
